“You would be a good real estate agent, Dahl” These words came from my mother many years ago. Back then, being a Realtor was a dream of mine so it was nice to hear my mother’s encouragement. I thought that I had the skills needed to be a good agent; I loved looking at homes, loved meeting new people and knew the inventory by studying real estate magazines from cover to cover. Seemed simple, right? What makes a good real estate agent? Male or female? Old or young? Serious or friendly? Business-like or island-casual? The answer is yes! There are many successful relationships between agent and client, however, there are too many cases of unsuccessful client and agent relationships. Why are clients unhappy? When I meet with unsatisfied Sellers and Buyers, a common point of dissatisfaction is that the agent didn’t do what they wanted. Why would an agent not do what the client wants? And, would an agent willingly not do what their client wants? Here is the simple part: Tell me what you want. I believe that lack of communication is the culprit for much dissatisfaction. Communication, and lots of it, is my working belief on a successful agent/client relationship. It is so important that you tell me what your expectation is when hiring me and in return, I will tell you what your role is in this partnership. A little about me: I grew up in Hilo, moved to Oahu for college and graduated from UH Manoa with a degree in Asian Studies. I am married with a son and love to cook. Okay, enough about me, tell me about you... Please browse my website for listings, reports and important local real estate information. When you're ready, contact me and let's get to work!
